Antonia Herrada

Antonia Herrada, adored mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on the 17th of January, 1931, in Guerrero, Coahuila, Mexico. Her life was a testament to the resilience and strength of spirit that were hallmarks of her character. Her journey of 95 years, filled with love, laughter, and immeasurable courage, ended on the 1st of August, 2026. As the poet Maya Angelou once said, "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it." Antonia personified this quote, having lived a life of immense strength and fortitude, undeterred by the trials and tribulations she faced.

Antonia was an extraordinary woman, filled with an infectious zest for life and an undying love for her family. She was a beacon of strength and resilience, inspiring those around her with her unwavering spirit. Antonia's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, courage, and devotion to her family, woven together by the threads of her remarkable life journey. Her legacy lives on through her son, Paul Arguijo; grandsons, Paul Jr, Manuel Arguijo, and Paul Arguijo; and granddaughter, Elyssa Arguijo. Antonia was preceded in death by her father, Juan Martinez, and mother, Emilia Cruz.

Family and friends gathered to pay their respects and celebrate Antonia's life at a series of services held at Memorial Funeral Chapels and Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Eagle Pass, Texas. Her life was commemorated with love, respect, and cherished memories. As we remember Antonia, we are reminded of the quote by Emily Dickinson, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." Antonia's love remains immortal in the hearts of those she touched.
