Eagle Pass, Texas
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful departure of Aurelia Alejandro on January 14, 2026. Born to Zenon Mendoza and Carlota Mata on November 12, 1940, in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Aurelia lived a life full of love, resilience, and indomitable spirit. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Aurelia was indeed one of the most beautiful things in this world, a beacon of warmth and cheer that lit up the lives of everyone around her.
Aurelia made her home in Eagle Pass, Texas, where she was a beloved pillar of her community. Known for her infectious laughter, Aurelia had an uncanny ability to find joy in the simplest of things, a quality that endeared her to all who knew her. She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a steadfast friend. Her love was a refuge, her wisdom a guiding light, and her spirit, a testament to her strength and resilience. As a wise woman once said, "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." Aurelia lived her years to the fullest, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate to have known her.
Aurelia is survived by her children Margarito Mendoza, Alma Flores, Gerardo Alejandro, Luz Grimaldo, Arturo Alejandro, and Esmeralda Gaona, and her granddaughter Mariana Flores. She was preceded in death by her parents Zenon Mendoza and Carlota Mata, and her children Irma Alejandro and Margarito Alejandro.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 10:00am CST and Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 9:00am CST at Funerales Socorro, 1011 Avenida Emilio Carranza, Piedras Negras, Coahuila de Zaragoza, 26020.
In celebrating the vibrant life of Aurelia Alejandro, we invite everyone who knew her to share their memories, anecdotes, and photos on her memorial page. Each story and picture paints a part of her extraordinary life, and it would be a wonderful way to honor her indomitable spirit, her infectious laughter, and her boundless love.
