Ernestina Longoria

–

Eagle Pass, Texas

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ernestina Longoria, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on May 14, 2025. Born on February 26, 1947, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, she later made her home in Eagle Pass, Texas. In her 78 years, she enriched the lives of many with her faith, love, and warm spirit. As Helen Keller rightly said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.” Ernestina was indeed a beautiful soul felt in the hearts of many.

Ernestina was a devout Christian whose life was a living testament to her faith. She deeply loved her family and her Christian brothers and sisters, and her faith radiated in her interactions with others. She was a beacon of love and strength to her loved ones, always there with an encouraging word and a helping hand. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind an enduring legacy of love. She is survived by her sons, Dennis, Alejandro, and Joey Longoria.

Ernestina was preceded in death by her parents, Teodulo Lira and Juana Coy, and her son, Angel Longoria. In her memory, viewings will be held on Friday, 16 May 2025 at 9:00am CDT at Funerales Socorro, located at 1011 Avenida Emilio Carranza, Piedras Negras, Coahuila de Zaragoza, 26020 and on Saturday, 17 May 2025 at 9:00am CDT at Memorial Funeral Chapels in Eagle Pass, Texas. Ernestina will be laid to rest at 1:00pm CDT on Saturday, 17 May 2025 at the Maverick County Cemetery, 1182 Arlington Street, Eagle Pass, Texas.

As Albert Pike mused, “What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.” Ernestina’s acts of love and faith remain as her immortal legacy. We invite you to share your memories and photos of Ernestina on her memorial page to keep her spirit alive in our hearts. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she is loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure.
