We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Hazel Alicia Velez, who left us on October 13, 2026. Born on November 11, 2019, in Eagle Pass, Texas, Hazel Alicia's short life was filled with joy and radiance that touched all who knew her. As Mark Twain once beautifully put it, "The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why". Hazel Alicia had an enchanting spirit that was evident from the moment of her birth and continued to shine brightly throughout her life.
Hazel Alicia was a radiant jewel in our lives, a beacon of joy and innocence whose laughter was infectious and heart unbearably kind. Even in her early years, she exhibited a curiosity and wonder towards the world around her that was truly captivating. Her effervescent personality brought a sense of joy and comfort to all who had the honor of knowing her. As the adage goes, "Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same." Hazel Alicia was one such soul whose impact was immense, despite her tender age.
She is survived by her loving parents, Enrique Velez and Reyna Isabel Caballero who cherished her in every way possible. Hazel Alicia was an irreplaceable light in his life, and her memories will continue to inspire him. As we remember Hazel Alicia, we also remember the words of Emily Dickinson, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones, and her love will forever be a part of their lives.
