Eagle Pass, Texas
With a heart both vast and warm, Manuela Garza Trevino danced her way through the world, leaving no room untouched by her vibrant spirit. Born on August 21, 1930, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, Manuela spent an incredible 96 years nurturing relationships, weaving stories, and cultivating joy. She gracefully exited life's stage on August 23, 2026, in Eagle Pass, Texas, her home for many cherished years.
Manuela demonstrated that one's worth is not measured by their professional accomplishments, but by the love they share and the lives they touch. She was a woman of strength and character, living by the words of Maya Angelou, "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." Manuela embodied this sentiment, filling her days with laughter, warmth, and the companionship of those she held dear. She was a beacon of light and love in the lives of many, particularly her beloved daughter, Sylvia Ibarra, who survives her.
Manuela was born to Arturo Trevino and Maria Garza, who preceded her in death, and whose love and teachings shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. Her life was a testament to resilience, as she navigated the waters of loss, change, and growth with grace and courage. She was not just a woman, but a force of nature, a ray of sunshine, and a source of unending love. As the poet William Wordsworth wrote, "Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower, we will grieve not; rather find strength in what remains behind."
To keep her memory alive, we invite all who knew and loved Manuela to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page. Each story, each picture, is a testament to the beautiful life she lived, and the legacy she leaves behind.
