Eagle Pass, Texas
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Ramon Castillo on July 16, 2025, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born on March 24, 1929, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, Ramon spent his life in faithful service of his loved ones and his community. He spent his final years in the comfort of his home in Eagle Pass, Texas, surrounded by those he held dear.
Ramon was a man of the earth, inextricably bound to the land he loved. He relished the outdoor life, embracing the simplicity and honesty of the ranch and farm life. He was a shepherd in more ways than one, not only tending to his flock but also serving as a spiritual guide within his community as a devoted member of Jehovah's Witnesses. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn," and so too was the impact of Ramon's life profound and far-reaching. Each interaction, each relationship, each moment of guidance was a seed he planted that will continue to grow and flourish in his memory.
Ramon is survived by his beloved wife Carolina Castillo, and their children Azalia, Carolina, Elda, Pedro, Ramon Jr, Idalia, Patricia, Rolando, and Adrian. He was a beacon of strength and love to his family, guiding them through life's storms, and instilling in them the same love for life and the land that he cherished. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor Moran and Jovita Lara, and his dear children Ester, Manuel, and Juan.
To quote Kahlil Gibran, "For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one." Though Ramon's physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit continues to flow through the lives of those he touched. We invite all who knew Ramon to share their memories and photos on his memorial page, to celebrate his remarkable life and the love he shared so generously.
